Telekinesis with Loops

JJulioIntermediate2m

The Old Way

Most people try to move objects by blowing on them or using clumsy threads that get tangled. It usually looks fake because you have to stand in a specific spot or move your body in a weird way. If the thread is too thick, your friends will spot it immediately.

Moving Objects with Loops

This method uses a tiny circle of invisible elastic called a "loop." Instead of messing with long strings, the loop stays on your wrist like a watch. You can walk around all day and no one will know you have it. When you're ready to perform, you just hook it over your thumb.

The best part about this technique is that you can use borrowed objects. You can take a friend's sunglasses or a pen from a waiter and make them move on the table. You can even have a spectator hold a marker in their own hand and make it fall over just by waving your hands near it. It looks like real telekinesis because your hands never actually touch the object.

About Julio Ribera

Julio is a street magic expert with over 1.5 million followers. He specializes in magic that works in the real world, not just on camera. He teaches this method because it’s fast to set up and works with almost any light object you find at a party.

What's Included

  • How to keep the loop on your wrist so it's ready anytime

  • The "triangular" loop position that gives you total control

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this hard to learn?
The move itself is very easy. The main thing you need to practice is how much pressure to use so you don't snap the elastic. Julio shows you exactly how to "push" the loop without being heavy-handed.

Do I need special props?
You will need "loops" (invisible elastic bands), which are a standard tool for magicians. Once you have the loop on your wrist, you can use everyday items like pens, straws, or glasses.

Will people see the thread?
If you follow the instructions on hand positioning and lighting, the loop is invisible. Even from a few inches away, people won't be able to see what's actually moving the object.

Can I do this anywhere?
Yes. Since the loop is already on your wrist, you can do this at a dinner table, at a bar, or even standing up on the street. It’s one of the most practical ways to do "street magic."
